When you shop at Sussman’s, you’re part of a tradition that spans more than a century.
We’re proud to be a cornerstone of the community in downtown Arthur, Ontario.
Sussman's is a shining example of a small-town, family business that has survived for more than 100 years.
Joseph N. (Joe) Sussman arrived here in 1907 as a 21-year old refugee, fleeing the anti-Semitism of Poland. From 1907 until 1914 he peddled clothing with a horse and wagon in Arthur and its surrounding areas, opening a small store in the village of Arthur Ontario in 1914.
Dave Kozinets married Sussman's daughter, Shirley, and became involved with the business. In the early 1970s, the family decided to specialize in men's wear, quickly becoming the place to find modern fit and styling with old world tailoring.
By the mid-1970s, Dave and Shirley’s sons, Steven and Harvey, became partners in the thriving business. This led to major expansions and the addition of Sussman's For Her: a ladies store designed to meet the expanding fashion needs of women.
Today, it is nearly impossible to find small town hospitality with the selection, quality and competitive prices of our clothing.
From outerwear to career wear, denim to special occasion suits dresses, Sussman’s has everything you – and your wardrobe – need to stay stylish.
